Dreams and schemes - You know the one where you're walking around town in your underwear? That's my scheme.

“ I began playing guitar when I was 8 years old, inspired by the Beatles and seeing the Monkees every week on TV. I have been playing music with Nancy and Lee for a couple decades. I am also a founding member of the Bartron Tyler Group and we’ve recorded 5 albums. I am currently completing work on a 6th BTG CD: a collection of instrumentally arranged Beatles tunes called Yesterday Never Knows".

“ I began playing guitar when I was 8 years old, inspired by the Beatles and seeing the Monkees every week on TV. Growing up during the guitar explosion of the 60s it seemed like every block had a garage band. I’ve been playing in bands since grade school and can’t seem to stop.

Although I went to high school with Nancy I didn’t really get to know her until a few years later when she was playing with Lee in a band called “The Shoes”. Since then we’ve all been playing together in various bands, the longest lasting being the Curios.

Over the years I’ve had some great guitar teachers. Early on Dave Friedman was teaching about every kid in Pacifica and my mom talked him into teaching me when I was a too-young ten-year-old. Later I got to study with Brad Buethe at the Blue Bear School of Music in the 70s, and later with Robben Ford and Joe Satriani in the 80s. I’ve also spent the last 20 years playing with another band, the Bartron Tyler Group. I’ve recorded 6 albums with them. The latest CD was just finished: a collection of instrumentally arranged Beatles tunes entitled “Yesterday Never Knows".

Wanna talk back? Visit the blog drawer...we’d love to hear from you!
Cheers, Mike
